Countdown to Disney! ~ Day 1

Favorite Character:  Captain Jack Sparrow

Pirate.  And not just any pirate.  The.  Best.  Pirate.  Ever.

Quote Time!

Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.”

Well, then, I confess, it is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer my weasely black guts out. “

“A wedding? I love weddings. Drinks all around!”

“When you marooned me on that god forsaken spit of land, you forgot one very important thing, mate: I'm Captain Jack Sparrow.”

“You need to find yourself a girl, mate. Or perhaps the reason you practice three hours a day is that you already found one, and are otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet. You're not a eunuch are you?”

“You seem somewhat familiar. Have I threatened you before?”

“Why is the rum gone?”

“Captain Jack Sparrow, if you please sir.”

“This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow!”

“No. You want you to find this, because the finding of this finds you incapacitorially finding and or locating in your discovering the detecting of a way to save your dolly belle, ol' what's-her-face. Savvy?”

“I got a jar of dirt, I got a jar of dirt, and guess what's inside it!”

“'Ello, beastie.”

“No. If we don't have the key, we can't open whatever we don't have that it unlocks. So what purpose would be served in finding whatever need be unlocked, which we don't have, without first having found the key what unlocks it?”

“Oh bugger.”

“Did no one come to save me just because they missed me?”

“Cuttlefish. Eh? Let u”s not, dear friends, forget our dear friends the cuttlefish... flipping glorious little sausages. Pen them up together, and they will devour each other without a second thought... Human nature, in'it? Ooor... fish nature...”

“Up is down. That's just maddeningly unhelpful. Why are these things never clear?”

“We must fight... to run away!”

“Love, that is a dinghy. My vessel is magnificent and fierce and huge-ish. And gone. Why is it gone?”

“I have no sympathy for any of you feculent maggots and no more patience to pretend otherwise. Gentlemen, I wash my hand of this weirdness.”

“My peanut!”

“Why would he do that? Because he's a lummox, isn't he? Well, we shall have a magnificent garden party, and you're not invited!”

“Ladies, will you please shut it! Listen to me.
Yes, I lied to you.
No, I don't love you.
Of course it makes you look fat.
I've never been to Brussels.
It is pronounced *egregious*.
By the way, no. I've never actually met Pizarro, but I love his pies.
And all of this pales to utter insignificance in light of the fact that my ship is once again gone. Savvy?”

“NOBODY MOVE! I've dropped me brain.”

If I may lend a machete to your intellectual thicket.”

“Now we're being followed by rocks. Never had that one before.”

“Never actually been one for tradition...”

“My hands are clean in this, figuratively.”

“Were I in a divulgatory mood, what were I to divulge?”

“You may kill me, but you can never insult me. Who am I?
I'm Captain Jack Sparrow!”

“There should be a "Captain" in there somewhere.”

“You know that feeling you get when you're standing in a high place... sudden urge to jump?... I don't have it.”

“Did everyone see that? Because I will *not* be doing it again.”

“You've stolen me. And I'm here to take meself back.”

“Why is the Black Pearl in the bottle?”

“You lied to me by telling me the truth?”

“The crime in which you have been found guilty of, is being innocent of being Jack Sparrow.”

“Mistook it for a brothel. Honest mistake.”

“Clergyman, on the off chance that this does not go well for me, I would like it noted here and now that I am fully prepared to believe in whatever I must, so that I may be welcomed into that place where all the "goody-goodies" get to go. Savvy?”

“I've actually never been that drunk.”

“We shall need a crossbow, an hourglass, three goats, one of us must learn to play the trumpet, whilst the other one goes like this.”

“Face is familiar. Have I... threatened you before?”

“Death lies before us, as we sail to the Fountain of Youth.”

“Captain, I wish to report a mutiny. I can name fingers and point names.”

“Who's to say I won't live forever, eh? Discoverer of the Fountain of Youth. I've no say in it, Gibbs. It's a pirate's life for me.”

“Better to not know which moment may be your last. Every morsel of your entire being alive to the infinite mystery of it all.”

Sorry, mates… I couldn’t help meself.  :P

I do hope you enjoyed my countdown to Disney.  Since we’ve reached the final day that can only mean one thing:
I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!

Countdown to Disney! ~ Day 2

Favorite Royalty

Princess:  Tiana

Tia is incredibly hardworking and always there for her friends.  She loves to cook and she constantly has her mind set on accomplishing her dream of opening a restaurant.  Tiana is such an inspiration and a wonderful princess.

Prince:  Flynn Rider

Flynn is awesome.  He is rogue, dashing, handsome, witty, compassionate… in one word: perfect.  Gosh, I love this guy!

How can you resist the smolder?

Countdown to Disney! ~ Day 3

Favorite Villain:  Gaston

Arrogant, self-centered, greedy, vain, and masculine are just some of the defining characteristics of Gaston.  His vanity at times is completely absurd, as are some of his remarks (“It’s not right for a woman to read.  Soon she starts getting ‘ideas’, and ‘thinking’…).  He does sing quite a few catchy tunes though!

Countdown to Disney! ~ Day 4

Favorite Scene from my Favorite Movie

I am completely and utterly in love with Captain Jack Sparrow.  All four Pirates of the Caribbean films are among my favorites; however, the first one holds a special place in my heart.  It was the first film that gave us a glimpse into the life of Captain Jack Sparrow, along with many nods to the original attraction.

Bring Me That Horizon

So, here it is! The moment you’ve all been waiting for: my favorite scene.

Countdown to Disney! ~ Day 5

Favorite Disney Classic Cartoon – Mickey’s Trailer

Watch it:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHaGRj803J8

So good!  I grew up on these cartoons and this one was always my favorite.  It is so funny, witty, and absolutely absurd at times!  My favorite part is when they are eating breakfast;  that’s the only way to eat corn on the cob, my friends.

Countdown to Disney! ~ Day 6

Favorite Disney Classic

Alrighty, so this is a difficult category to choose just one favorite.  That’s why I’m going to break it up into two subcategories.  Clever, eh?

My favorite Disney Classic that was animated by all of Disney’s Nine Old Men is Peter Pan.  I love the storyline and the characters.  I’m a huge fan of pirates (in case you hadn’t picked up on that yet haha :D) and fairies, so this film delivers on both accounts.  I’m also enthralled with the idea of not wanting to grow up and enter the “real” world, which is probably why I LOVE the magic of Walt Disney World and have always dreamed of working there.

My other favorite Disney Classic is The Lion King.  Simba is so gosh darn adorable, even if he is in trouble.  All of the characters are incredible, as are the songs.  As I mentioned in the “about me” post, this film was my favorite movie up until Pirates of the Caribbean.  Despite its fall from my number one spot, it will always have a special place in my heart.

Awww, so cute!

Countdown to Disney! ~ Day 7

Favorite Live-Action/Animated Film:  Pete’s Dragon

Pete’s Dragon was released in 1977.  This Disney film combined the magic of animation with live-action.  Where else can you find a young orphan with a 20 foot tall dragon as a best friend?  Oh, and I forgot to mention – he can also become invisible at a moment’s notice.  This is often an overlooked film, which is too bad; there are amazing songs and some great acting.  Helen Reddy does a fantastic job as Nora, especially when singing “Candle on the Water.”

I am always delighted to see Elliot and Pete in the Main Street Electrical Parade.  It is definitely my favorite part!

This film is absolutely charming and a true classic!  If you have never seen this film before, then I encourage you to watch it.  As a matter of fact, I think I will watch Pete’s Dragon on this brazzle dazzle day!

Countdown to Disney! ~ Day 8

Favorite Song:  I See the Light

Sung by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi in Tangled.  “I See the Light” is a truly beautiful song and is portrayed in one of my favorite movie scenes of all time.

Rapunzel:
All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in
All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here, blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here, suddenly I see
Standing here, it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be

(Chorus)
And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you

Flynn:
All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in a blur
All that time never truly seeing
Things, the way they were
Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now she's here, suddenly I know
If she's here it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go

Rapunzel & Flynn:
And at last I see the light

Flynn:
And it's like the fog is lifted

Rapunzel & Flynn:
And at last I see the light

Rapunzel:
And it's like the sky is new

Rapunzel & Flynn:
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once, everything is different
Now that I see you,
Now that I see you!

Countdown to Disney! ~ Day 10

Favorite Original Character:  Mickey Mouse

The mouse that started it all.  In 1928, Walt Disney was returning home on a train from New York to California.  He was devastated after learning that he no longer owned the copyright to his cartoon, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.  It was during this train ride that Mickey came to him in his moment of need.  At first he named the mouse “Mortimer,” but Walt’s wife, Lillian, suggested the name “Mickey” instead.  Walt, himself, provided the voice for Mickey in all of his cartoons up until World War II.

Mickey is always enthusiastic and adventurous, albeit a bit shy at times.  His personality constantly shines through in every situation:  from Steamboat Willie to The Moving Day to Brave Little Tailor.  He is one gosh darn adorable mouse!
